The children of film directors
История кинематографа | 05.10.2024There are different ways to get to the cinema. But is there a faster and more successful way than... to be born into the family of a film director? Then, it seems, the path to fame is lined with flowers.
Of course, this is not always the case. Not all parents-directors welcome the desire of the heirs to do the same thing as them. Cinema professionals know for sure what a complex and sometimes cruel world it is, requiring complete dedication. It happens that the talent of a star son or daughter is not enough even with such protection. But there are also successful examples when the debut of parents in a film became decisive for future actors on their life path.
This, for example, happened to the daughters of the great Vasily Shukshin, who shot little Masha and Olya in his painting “Stove-benches". More precisely, for Maria Shukshina, this was the beginning of a successful acting and television career, but her sister eventually chose another profession.
Director Alexey Korenev shot the wonderful comedy “Taimyr Calls You” in 1970, where Evgeny Vesnik, Inna Makarova, and Evgeny Steblov shone. And - the director's seventeen-year-old daughter Elena. For her, the role of the modest girl Dunya was the first. But not the last: Elena Koreneva eventually became one of the brightest stars of Soviet cinema, starring in “Pokrovsky Gate”, “That same Munchausen” and many other films.
Alexandra Zakharova also made her debut in the films of her father, director Mark Zakharov. Her first role was in the film “The House that Swift Built”, and then in the comedy “Formula of Love". The image of the maid Fimka glorified Zakharova throughout the country, and roles in films and theater followed one after another.
Nikita Mikhalkov directed all his four children, Stepan, in his films. Anna, Artyom and Nadezhda. Anna, who is now one of the most recognizable actresses in our country, was dedicated to the whole documentary “Anna from 6 to 18". Her younger sister Nadezhda also starred there, whose second film was the Oscar-winning drama “Tired of the sun.” For Artyom Mikhalkov, however, the first film was not his father's. In 1978, he starred as Artyusha in Sibiriade, directed by his uncle, Andron Konchalovsky. The second film in his biography happened only twenty years later - “The Siberian Barber”, where Artyom played the role of one of the junkers. The eldest of the Mikhalkov children, Stepan, preferred a career as a director and now he is busy producing videos and video clips. But in 1990, he played the role of a border guard officer in his father's film Hitchhiking. The role was episodic and hardly remembered by the general public.
